at Indigo Sugar, our goal is to celebrate now and honor each individual’s uniqueness with art that inspires us to live in the moment

our art uses bold lines, bright, contrasting colors, and youthful, relevant imagery to give young adults a new way to express themselves and their interests; with occasional throwbacks that remind us to look at the world today how we did as kids – a fun, bright, colorful space for us to grow and learn in.

Indigo Sugar offers products featuring unique art inspired by day-to-day life in the 2020’s. our bold, eye-catching designs foster a sense of pride in oneself and their surroundings; and high-quality products are sure to last through whatever it takes to live in the moment!

let's make the leap into the next generation of art and media together

we believe that there’s no time like the present. we want to inspire young adults to appreciate the world around them and help them to realize that there’s no such thing as “the good old days;” each day is as good as you make it!

the 2010’s were all about “neo-nostalgia;” the re-hashing of older movies, television shows, and even fashion so that “new” media reflects the same themes and iconography as the old. This has continued on into the 2020’s, and, at Indigo Sugar, we’re ready for something new!

hi, i'm Arianna, aka Ari, the artist behind Indigo Sugar!

i live in a cozy 2 bedroom apartment in Flagstaff, AZ with my wonderful husband Robert, our two adorable dogs, Buddy and Naomi, and our perfect baby daughter Lilith.

i've been drawing for as long as i can remember; when i was little i'd make up stories and draw "comic books" about my teddy bear - who was secretly a super hero and would take me on adventures when my mom wasn't looking. when i got a bit older, i'd use my computer to draw and animate videos of my own little cartoon girls lip-syncing to my favorite songs (usually Selena Gomez or No Doubt). in middle school i'd draw myself intricate permanent marker "tattoos," which i was so determined to keep i'd sleep with cling wrap around my arms and carried around the full set of markers to do touch ups any time i washed my hands or smudged it. i was drawing any chance i got - it was something that was all mine and completely in my control, i could drown my artwork in my thoughts and feelings when i had no other outlet.

when i got into high school, i started to question whether art was something i'd really be able to pursue as a career. the uncertainty led me to focus more on my academics, and i ultimately decided to major in secondary education - mathematics at Northern Arizona University. i studied to be a high school math teacher for three years, and if the pandemic hadn't hit i may have continued on that path; i had already started struggling in some of my upper level math courses, and switching to online lectures didn't help. when i found out i wasn't on track to graduate, i had to decide whether or not i wanted to be a teacher enough to justify taking out another $10k in loans to finish. i didn't, so i quit school, sat around unsure what to do for a little while, and decided to pick up art again.

now i'm here to present Indigo Sugar - a brand that i consider to be an extension of myself, and what i didn't know i was working towards for most of my life. Indigo Sugar represents the wonder that many of us lose after adolescence, the excitement for every day and the ability to see beauty in the mundane things around us. our world moves at such a quick pace we often don't allow ourselves to contemplate ourselves and our lives meaningfully enough to realize whether what we're doing is even worth it; if sacrificing our happiness for the sake of being valuable to someone else even means anything. Indigo Sugar represents allowing yourself to taste, hear, see, smell, and love the things around you without the cloudiness of uncertainty taking you from the moment; almost like we're kids again.
